Vincent Van Goes!
Well, who would have thought that the 2nd post would be years later and introduce our first voyage with Vincent! Julie and I have finally finished the build to a state where we feel we are ready for life on the road, and we have begun our next adventure!
In our first post in 2020 we suggested that we wanted to document the build process for Vincent. That did not happen as you may have guessed. We took pictures sporadically through the process, and I may write a post later with some of the highlights, but we decided not to focus our time and efforts on the documentation since we didn't know what we were doing.
During the build both Julie and I changed jobs and we moved to a new location to finish the build (thanks Mom and Dad for letting us use your tiny house!). Julie now works as a clinical denials nurse, reviewing denied insurance requests and writing letters as part of the process to request that the denial be overturned. I (Paul) work as a roving Electrical Engineer for Tent Engineering based in Bend Oregon. We both work part time giving us a chance to keep work going on Vincent, and now to travel and spend time enjoying the places we go!
Which brings us to the real point of this post. The travel has begun! We have departed Oregon, passed through Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, and are currently in Nebraska heading east! So far living in Vincent has been great! We are figuring out what we want to store where, how to make life more efficient, and what we need to change/fix when we have our next down time, and it is a blast! We have Starlink for Internet, so we are able to connect on the go which allows us both to work from pretty much anywhere, then relax and explore in the afternoons when we aren't actively journeying, so we are pretty excited!
That is all for now, we are back on the road (don't worry, Julie is driving)! Thanks for reading, and I will do my best to keep posting in the future so you can see where will Vincent Van Go!
