Work on the road`

We are in Tennessee! Heading south towards the Florida Gulf coast for Julie's birthday, gonna spend some time at the beach there. Hopefully no tornadoes! As we travel both Julie and I have been working in the mornings. We haven't gotten a system fully dialed in yet, but it seems like what will work best is for one of us to work at the table, one of us on the bed. We had thought about working from the front seats (they swivel) but there isn't a good table for those places. So far I like working from the bed best. It is super comfy, surrounded by pillows, the windows allowing fresh air to come in, it is awesome! The table provides a better workspace, but it just isn't as cushy. Although the cushions Julie made for the table bench seats are pretty fantastic!

The LED lights do tend to cause a bit of a fun affect on video calls. Because of the way the LED dimming works they are technically blinking all the time, and the camera on the computer catches that and makes a sort of moving light/dark pattern on the screen, but it isn't terrible. And having dimmable lights is really handy, so it is worth it! (Someday I'll make a post about the LED lights. I'm very proud of the setup we have, I designed and built it!)

One thing that gets kinda tricky is time zones. Especially when travelling north/south right on a transition line. So far we have gone back and forth between Central and Eastern time at least twice. I think we are going to stay on Central most of the rest of the way south, but we will find out. It isn't terribly critical for us, most of my coworkers are Pacific time, so it gives me a buffer in the mornings, and Julie can work on her reviews any time as long as she finishes them every week. When we are back in the west I will have to pay more attention to my schedule, but for now, plenty of time to sleep in the morning. It definitely is a good feeling!
