Florida, Friends, Fun!

Our journey around the US continues! Our next stop after Los Alamos was to visit Julie's cousin in Chattanooga TN! We got to spend time with them and their 2 daughters, play some games, have some good discussions about life and stuff and things, and generally just catch up. After visiting them we had a few days until our next stop, so we decided to check out one of Georgia's state parks, Cloudland Canyon State Park! It has an awesome campground, great hiking trails, waterfall and canyon views, and is entirely pleasant in late April temperature wise! Be warned, the trails down to the waterfall includes many stairs, so if you are trying to get a good knee/leg workout, it is a great option!

Our next stop after Cloudland Canyon was the home of my good friend from Big Lake, Billy, and his wife Brittany! They live near Calhoun, GA on a beautiful property with plenty of trees, a beautiful field, and a pond! Their oldest child goes to school, so unfortunately we didn't get to spend as much time with her, but we got to do a lot of gymnastics, legos, and running with the two younger ones! We also got to spend some time with Billy and Brittany of course! And on the last day we were there we did some shooting. I got to try out some historic guns like the M1-gerand, a cowboy era rifle, and an AR-15. We also did some pistol shooting. I even hit the target sometimes! Definitely feels good when that happens. Then we finished the trip by visiting a local gelato shop and getting some cool and tasty treats!

Our next stop was in Alabama at the lifestyle center where Julie's brother works called Uchee Pines! He and his wife and their son recently moved there, so of course we took the opportunity to visit since we were in the area! We had a great time spending Sabbath with them, then on Sunday going up to the Callaway Gardens resort to see some birds of prey, butterflies, beautiful beaches, and plenty of sunshine!

Which brings us to Florida! We continued our journey southward to even warmer climates, which worked out perfectly since we stopped at Rainbow Springs State Park! The park is the home of an incredibly clear natural spring that you can swim in, float on, and just generally enjoy, and we did! Well, we swam and enjoyed, the floating is only open on the weekends until later in the year, but maybe we will come back and do that too!

And now we are at Oasis beach at Honeymoon Island State Park. The sand here is white, the sun is bright, the water is very pleasant, and we can't wait to get in!
